Meet Carmen
In 1961, Carmen Wase founded Carmen's Backhoe Service. Having previously worked on and built much of the Catskill Game Farm, Carmen was able to apply his knowledge and skills to his new company. Being one of the few contractors in Greene County at the time, Carmen became very well known among the area's residents.
Meet John
When Carmen's son, John, turned 12 years old, he began helping his father. He learned how to deliver quality work, offer fair prices, and earn the trust and friendship of customers. In 1993, John formed J. Wase Construction Corporation. Through hard work and ambition, he was able to expand his company to include heavy highway and utility work for municipalities, state facilities, highway departments, and commercial establishments. Whether installing thousands of feet of water or sewer lines or transforming an old kitchen into something unique, "A Tradition of Excellence" was handed down to him by his father and is still carried on to this day.
